Backflow Prevention

Protect Your Home's Water Supply

Renaissance property management is proud to announce that we are now offering licensed backflow prevention testing. If you have a backflow prevention assembly that requires yearly testing, call us today.

Under normal circumstances, water from the distribution system flows into a consumer’s premises. Backflow is when potable water flows from the consumer’s premises back into the distribution system, where it can become contaminated by various pollutants or toxins.

Backflow occurs when there is a sudden decrease in the water pressure of a distribution system. This decrease in pressure can be caused by a water main breaking, or when a fire hydrant is in use.

A backflow preventer is a device that is installed on the cross-connections of a plumbing system. A cross-connection is an actual or potential connection between a system that carries drinking water and a system that carries a non-potable (non-drinkable) source of water or fluid. A backflow prevention assembly ensures that water only flows into your home, and never “backflows” in the opposite direction. This assembly protects your clean water supply in the event of a sudden pressure reduction.
